Bacon Mushroom and Balderson Cheddar Cheese Melts

  • 1 x [250 g] package bacon, diced
  • 1 cup [250 mL] diced red onion
  • 2 tbsp [30 mL] Lactantia Butter
  • 2 cups [500 mL] sliced white or brown mushrooms
  • 1 tsp [5 mL] ground black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat buns or whole wheat hamburger buns, cut in half
  • 2 cups [500 mL] grated Balderson Heritage Cheddar Cheese
  1. Over medium heat in fry pan cook bacon and onion until bacon is crisp.
  2. Add Lactantia Butter, mushrooms and black pepper; cook until mushrooms are tender.
  3. Place bun halves on a baking sheet; spoon bacon mixture on bun halves.
  4. Sprinkle with grated Balderson Heritage Cheddar Cheese. Bake at 375°F [190°C] for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve hot.
